Hertfordshire Police are investigating a theft and fraud incident after thieves stole bank cards from an elderly man in Rickmansworth.
At around 11.20am on Tuesday, September 10, a man aged in his 80s was distracted while accessing his bank account at an ATM at Nationwide, on the High Street.
He was approached by two suspects who reportedly stole his bank cards. These were then used at the Post Office to withdraw £500.
The police were then called to the scene.
A Hertfordshire Police spokesperson confirmed that £1,000 in total was stolen.
They added that the first suspect was described as tall man who was wearing a mask.
