RADLETT NEWS readers are being asked to help police catch two cruel burglars who beat a man with his walking stick in his own homes on Christmas Eve.
The man woke up at around 1.30am after he heard a noise in his home and was confronted by two intruders who took his walking stick and attacked him with it.
The men were described as tall. At the time of the incident, they were wearing dark clothing with hoods and face coverings.
The victim was left with minor injuries before the intruders escaped empty handed
Detective Constable Ben Heath is leading the investigation into the incident which took place at a house in Orchard Close.
He said the man has been left badly affected by the burglary and urged anyone with any information, however small, to contact police.
He said: “Thankfully the victim was not seriously hurt. He suffered some cuts to his hands however, this incident would have badly shaken him.
“We’re working hard to identify those responsible for this burglary and I’m appealing for anyone who may have seen a group of men matching the description loitering in the area or running away from the scene around the time stated to get in touch.”
