Penknife seized after reports of eight-year-old carrying weapon

Published on: 29th April 2018   |   By: Court Reporter   |   Category: Uncategorized

The Bushey St James Trust has failed to respond to BusheyNews after an eight-year-old pupil was alleged to have brought a penknife into one of their schools.

The Trust oversees three including Little Reddings Primary School in Bushey where, on March 16, police were called about a pupil who had bought the weapon into the school.

Police established that no direct threats with the penknife were made to other pupils and the penknife was seized.

As the child is under the age of criminal responsibility, which stands at 10 years of age, no charges can be made but the child and their parents were given words of advice about the incident.

Little Reddings Primary School sets out its expected values and behaviours of its pupils on its website with a particular focus on bullying where it claims: “We are committed to a strong anti-bullying policy and will take all necessary steps to oppose behaviour of this type and to support both those being bullied and those bullying.”
