Gade and Chorleywood Health Centres are no longer offering an urgent walk-in clinic following changes to the way patients book appointments.
Starting from Monday, October 6, the centre announced the launch of Patient Triage as part of plans to make it easier for patients to see healthcare professionals, supported by NHS England.
Total Triage means every GP appointment request will now be reviewed by a clinician before being booked. This will aim to prioritise urgent cases, improve access and reduce waiting times.
All urgent requests must go through the Total Triage process. Patients must visit the health centre’s website, and fill in their details and reason for contact on the online consultation form. Once the form has been reviewed, patients may receive a text with an appointment time or a phone call, be asked to book online, be referred to another service, or receive advice without needing an appointment.
A member of the centre’s team will complete the form for any patients who are unable to do so themselves. Paper copies are also available in the reception.
