PARTY TIME: Popular Abbots Langley event returns for second time

Published on: 23rd March 2023   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Last year’s Abbots Langley Party in the Park is set to make a triumphant return this year – this time to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla.

Following last year’s successful event celebrating the Platinum Jubilee of the late Queen Elizabeth II, the community will once again come together at the Manor House Grounds to celebrate a royal occasion, from 3am to 10pm on Saturday, May 6.

Residents can expect fairground rides for children and plenty of space to hold a picnic, with vendors also on site to offer hog roasts, tacos, burgers, pizzas, sweets, paella and ice cream, and the Manor House serving drinks.

There will also be performances from local musicians and groups, with confirmed acts including Electric Umbrella’s Big Yellow Choir, the Divine Saviour School Choir, the Celtic Hearts Dance Group, the Happy Helly Choir, DJ Mark Cooper, Ria Midgely, Kerris Lea, and the Space Cowboys.

The event will culminate in the lighting of the village beacon at 9pm, followed by a laser light display.

This is part of Lighting Up the Nation, a countrywide initiative which will see several well-known spots across the UK lit up with projections, illuminations, lasers, and drone displays in honour of the occasion.
