Parking restrictions on Kings Langley lane need amendments

Published on: 7th September 2019   |   By: News Desk   |   Category: Uncategorized

Residents who live on Water Lane have objected to parking restrictions proposed by Three Rivers District Council (TRDC).

It is proposed that along at least 50 per cent of Water Lane, between the canal bridge and the Station Road junction, should have double yellow lines.

Several residents attended an Abbots Langley Parish Council meeting last month and said more needs to be to done. The parish council agreed.

A spokesperson for the residents said: “Vehicles constantly exceed 30mph along our section of Water Lane. Many school children use this route to walk to and from school.  We also have families living in the road with toddlers and young children.

“We appreciate double yellow lines are required in areas of Water Lane but not just double yellow lines as this will cause vehicles to travel faster, we need traffic calming restrictions implemented. The introduction of white T Bars may help to deter some drivers from parking to close to our drives.”
