New data has revealed the number of incidents of illegal parking in disabled spaces in Northwood and Ruislip.
Information obtained through a Freedom of Information request to Hillingdon Council shows that 1,153 instances have been recorded in both areas from January 2022 to September 2023.
The road with the highest number of offences was Joel Street in Northwood, which saw 246 instances where drivers parked illegally in disabled spaces.
The road with the second-highest total was King Edwards Road in Ruislip, where 130 offences were recorded.
The car park with the highest number of instances of illegal disabled bay parking was Kingsend South in Ruislip, with a total of 58.
The month with the highest number of incidents was March 2022, when 102 offences were recorded across both areas.
According to Hillingdon Council’s website, parking in a designated disabled parking space without displaying a valid permit is considered a higher-rate offence, for which drivers can be fined £110.
