A serving Thames Valley Police officer has been charged with two offences, following an investigation by Northamptonshire Police.

PC Luke Christopher Horner, based at Amersham police station, has been charged with one count of engaging in penetrative sexual activity with a child aged 13-15 and one of making an indecent image of a child in connection with an incident while off duty.

PC Horner, aged 24, is due to appear at Northampton Magistrates’ Court today (June 16).

The officer was suspended from duty on Thursday, June 15, and will be subject to a separate misconduct investigation. The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) has been informed.

Thames Valley Police are not in a position to comment further at this time, due to this being a live investigation.

A Northamptonshire Police spokesman said: “This is a live investigation and therefore the Force will not be making any further comment at this time.”
