A local girl placed highly in the finals for Miss Hertfordshire 2014, claims she is one step closer to her dream coming true. Justine Georgiou, who works at Stagecoach Northwood, placed third out of 23 girls in the Miss Hertfordshire finals on April, 13 held at Hatfield House. “The evening was really enjoyable, and made me feel really good about myself: the main thing is that I had so much fun. “As this was the second time I have taken part in Miss Hertfordshire I felt slightly more comfortable, because I knew what to expect I was more prepared and it meant I enjoyed it a lot more,” she said. The Hertfordshire beauty raised over £1,100 for the charity Beauty with a Purpose, which helps sick, disabled and disadvantaged children all over the world by participating in a sponsored walk and holding events for her students. She continued: “Miss Hertfordshire isn’t just about beauty, it has given me the courage to try new things and it has helped me build my confidence, the experience overall is exciting and rewarding.” The 22-year-old is a speech and drama teacher at Stagecoach Northwood and also teaches as Northwood College; last month she told My Northwood & Moor Park News that she wanted to continue helping children and be a role model. She said: “I will definitely be taking part in Miss Hertfordshire next year and will try my hardest to take home the title, for me it really would be a dream come true. “This year I am still overwhelmed that I actually placed third; I have a crown so I’m a winner in my eyes.”
