Nine hundreds tons of hay destroyed in St Albans fire

Firefighters are still tackling a huge blaze that broke out at a farm in St Albans early this morning. 

Nine hundred tons of hay was destroyed in the fire at Sandridgebury Lane which is thought to have started just after midnight. 

Fire and rescue crews from across the county attended and are currently waiting for the fire to burn itself out. 

It’s not yet known how the fire started.
