A businesswoman has set up a new venture in the form of a HR Consultancy covering Watford and surrounding areas. Parmilla Minhas recently set up HR Dept Watford and Chorleywood after spending about 15 years in human resources for major corporate offices including Clifford Chance and Barclays Investment Bank. The HR Dept Watford and Chorleywood aims to provide high-quality and affordable outsourced HR advice and support in the area. It offers its services to a wide area of Chesham, Rickmansworth, Harefield and South Oxhey. Mrs Minhas said: “I’d been working in HR for about 15 years and I wanted to do something more local instead of being based in Canary Wharf. I worked in HR consultancy for a long time and I sensed that was the route I would go down. “I looked into this in a bit more detail and did all the research and then I had enough to start trading on my own.” The HR Dept is a national business, with a network of more than 65 franchisees providing HR services in 90 territories in the UK, Ireland and Australia. Mrs Minhas added: “It’s always quite daunting setting up something like this on your own because it’s a case of not knowing where to start sometimes, but I’m delighted that I’ve got set up and I’ve got a mix of new and retained clients.”
