Mr Christmas set to light up Croxley Green on Saturday

A boy with cerebral palsy will be turning on the Christmas lights at the home of a Croxley man known affectionately as Mr Christmas this Saturday. Noah Collins will be doing the annual switching on of the lights at Dave Edwards’ home at 3 Lancing Way at 6pm on November 22. Dave told My News Magazines he hoped for another huge turnout with proceeds going towards Help Noah Walk, Jake Skinner and children’s charity POD. He said: “We usually get 400 to 500 people turn up and the county council will close the road between Baldwins Lane and Malvern Way at 4.30pm. “This year Noah Collins will be coming here and switching on the lights and last year we raised between £4,500 and £5,000 for our chosen charities and we hope to match that figure or go higher this year.” Dave added that the money raised from the lights will go towards Jake having surgery to extend his hamstrings so that they don’t twist. “Jake is in the same position as Noah really. Both have cerebral palsy and we hope the money raised this year can benefit both of them.”
