On Friday July 6, Richard Harrington MP visited local business Gama Healthcare to congratulate the team there on winning the Queen’s Award for Enterprise.
Mr Harrington met with co-founders and managing directors, Dr Guy Braverman and Dr Allen Hanouka, followed by a lunch with the whole staff.
Gama Healthcare specialises in manufacturing and distributing products within the healthcare industry. They are based on Regal Way, Watford and are the largest supplier of wet wipes to the NHS.
Gama was established in 2004 by two junior doctors and has since grown to 130 employees and distributes to 50 countries worldwide. In recognition of that growth, the company received the Queen’s Award for Enterprise, specifically for Outstanding Short-Term Growth in overseas sales over the last three years.
The Watford MP commended the team and said “Huge congratulations to Gama Healthcare, I’m very proud that a Watford company has received this prestigious award. I’ve no doubt that this is a testament to the hard work of founders, Guy and Allen, and the team.”
Mr Harrington also welcomed that the business is growing stating:
“It’s fantastic that we have global companies like Gama Healthcare based here. I think they have an exciting future in Watford and look forward to supporting them as the MP.”
