Meet your policing team face-to-face

Published on: 20th October 2017   |   By: The Newsdesk   |   Category:

Police meetings, known by cops as ‘beat surgeries’, are being held around the villages of Hertsmere (around Radlett) to encourage residents to get to know their neighbourhood officers and for the police to better understand the local issues. PCSO Tim Conway, who covers rural areas in the western side of Hertsmere, has organised a new drop-in surgeries which are open to everyone, in Aldenham, Patchetts Green and Letchmore Heath.  If successful, these will be held monthly. He said: “You don’t have to make an appointment, just drop in between the advertised times and we can chat face –to-face about any issues you have or any questions about policing, crime in the area and your safety. “We are lucky to have generally low crime across our area and in the whole of Hertfordshire but, when a crime happens or you suffer the effects of others’ anti-social behaviour, it can be devastating so please don’t suffer in silence. We are here to listen and to help wherever we can. Please come and see us if you have any issues that you wish to discuss, or just pop along to say hello.” PCSO Conway, and the rest of the Bushey and Radlett Safer Neighbourhood Team which covers this area, can give support ranging from helping you to join or start a Neighbourhood Watch, giving practical crime prevention advice to beat burglars, explaining how to deal with anti-social neighbours, who to call about fly tipping, what can be done to tackle inconsiderate parking and support for those suffering domestic abuse or hate crime. If you can’t attend a beat surgery, you can visit www.herts.police.uk which has lots of advice on many topics, or contact your Safer Neighbourhood Team on 101. The first Beat Surgeries are being held on Monday October 12 at the following locations:

  • The Three Horseshoes car park, The Green, Letchmore Heath 10:30am-11:30am
  • The Three Compasses car park, Pegmire Lane, Patchetts Green 12 noon-1pm
  • Outside Aldenham Parish Church, Church Lane  1:30pm-2:30pm
