MAN ARRESTED: Roads closed in Hemel Hempstead after ‘disturbance’

Several roads were closed in the Cotterells area of Hemel Hempstead today after a man climbed onto the top of a roof following the police being called to an address.

Officers were called to the area at 11am to reports of a disturbance, upon which the man got himself onto the roof of the address.

After this, road closures were put in place, and the fire service and East of England Ambulance Service were called to the scene.

Thankfully, the incident was brought to a safe conclusion. Afterwards, the man was arrested at the scene, but not before being treated for minor injuries by paramedics. All road closures relating to the incident have since ended.

A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: “Police have arrested a man following an incident at an address in Cotterells, Hemel Hempstead today (Thursday 16 June).

“Officers attended the address, having been called at 11am to reports of a disturbance, and a man climbed onto the roof.

“The fire service and East of England Ambulance Service were called to the address and road closures were put in place while the incident was brought to a safe conclusion.

“The man was arrested at the scene, where he was treated by paramedics for minor injuries.

“The road closures were then lifted.”
