Harrow Council has continued to wage war on fly tippers in the area, this time singling out a group who fly tipped a sofa in Canons Park Parade on Sunday, November 24.
In November’s Stanmore & Edgware News, it was reported that Harrow Council had ramped up its fight against fly tippers by starting a wall of shame for offenders to be displayed online and in fly tipping hotspots.
Soon after launching the initiative, three men were caught on camera hugging after dumping a sofa in the street.
In a post on Facebook alongside the video, Harrow Council said: “Unbelievable. Caught on camera, these three individuals illegally dumping a sofa, then proceed to giving each other a hug to celebrate the crime.
“How would they celebrate a £1,000 fine?
“There’s no excuse for it.”
The post went on to describe the act as “shameful”.
