A writer from Bushey has written, produced, and directed The Miserables – a new musical which will be heading to the Edinburgh Fringe in August. Nicola Masters, 27, from Bushey, is part of a team creating The Miserables which is a parody of Les Miserables, which is the perfect show for anybody who’s ever had a job they hated. The team behind the show, including Nicola Masters, are currently working to raise £7,000 to cover the costs of producing the show for the duration of the Fringe in August. The perks offered in their campaign include multiple chances for disillusioned employees to get ‘anonymous revenge’ on the workplaces they dislike by contributing items to be part of the ‘worst office in the world’ set, or even by naming one of the show’s characters after their own bad boss. Nicola added: “We’ve been amazed by the great response we’ve had to the show in it’s early stages, but the cost of taking a show to Edinburgh is prohibitive and there is very little funding available to comedy shows like ours. “We hope to be able to raise this money to ensure that we’re able to put on the best production we possibly can at the Edinburgh Fringe in August, and to give people the chance to contribute in a totally unique way.” To help them reach their target visit www.indiegogo.com/projects/the-miserables-a-newish-musical
