The Abbots Langley Crafty Ladies (ALCL) have continued their fundraising efforts to help refurbish a cubicle for seriously ill children at Watford General Hospital’s Starfish Ward.
Since the success of their fundraising evening at La Banq earlier this year, the group has kept the momentum going through raffles and community donations, and are now nearing their target.
Contributions from Abbots Langley Parish Council and the Thursday Coffee Morning Group brought the total to £3,009.
Their efforts also reached beyond the village, when Rex, a Watford resident who read about the project, donated £500, and Cathy, who attended the event, added £10.
The Abbots Langley Rainbows recently joined the cause, where they sold craft items alongside tea, coffee and cakes, managing to raise over £170 for the ward.
On Friday, November 14, the Abbots Langley Tough Ten donated £750 to the ALCL, bringing the total raised to date to £4,439.
