A Little Chalfont resident has shared his bemusement at capturing a delivery driver on camera leaving two bags packed full of MacDonald’s outside his home.
Richard Winters returned from the gym on the morning of November 24 to find two bags filled to the brim with burgers, nuggets, milkshakes and more on top of his recycling bin which he had put out for collection. He said:
“I don’t mind if people use the right bin, but I was panicked that the binmen wouldn’t collect my bins if there was food in the recycling.”
The driver dumped the food at 1.15am and Richard can only imagine that the people who presumably had the ‘night munchies’, must have been gutted when their food didn’t arrive.
Richard, who has never ordered food from an app before, spoke with neighbours who shared his confusion. Several pointed out that the closest McDonald’s is in Hemel and doesn’t deliver to the Chalfonts. He could only conclude that the delivery driver had lost his way. He said:
“I only wish they had knocked on the door – that much food would have been worth getting out of bed for!”
