LIBRARY LIFELINE: Chalfont St Peter community library appeals for support to ‘bridge the gap’

Published on: 31st March 2025   |   By: Nik Allen   |   Category: Uncategorized

Chalfont St Peter Community Library has unveiled a roster of events to boost its income as funding continues to squeeze.

The community library opened in 2012 after the old county library closed down. A group of residents, with the support of Chalfont St Peter Parish Council and Fairweather Insurance, spearheaded the mission.

The library is now appealing to locals to attend its free events and donate to support the operation.

They said: “We’re working hard to bridge the gap – and the public can help while enjoying some fantastic events!”

One of the library’s new events includes classic film screenings on the second Monday of every month. This adds to the screenings of more current films which take place on the last Monday of every month.

From 2pm to 5pm on Wednesdays, locals and visitors are invited to browse the 11,000 books on offer with a hot drink and a biscuit, for a suggested £1 donation.

To find out more, or to enquire about hiring the meeting rooms on the first floor or the library itself, head to www.csp-communitylibrary.co.uk
