Royalty came to Kings Langley yesterday when His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Kent visited Imagination Technologies’ new state-of-the-art head offices in the village. During his visit, the Duke met with a number of young engineers as well as the FTSE 250 company’s CEO, Sir Hossein Yassaie, who was knighted in the 2013 New Year Honours List for services to technology and innovation. Sir Hossein Yassaie, Imagination Technologies’ CEO said: “It was a huge honour to host His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and to give him a tour of our new facilities. I too am passionate about technology and proud to be building a British business that is shaping the way we consume technology and it was fantastic to share this with His Royal Highness.” The Duke of Kent met Imagination engineers working on the company’s graphics, processor and connectivity technologies, which are included in over 1.2 billion products a year, as well as meeting the teams responsible for semiconductor design. The tour concluded in the company’s purpose built demo suite where the Duke was shown the latest products using Imagination’s technology. The Duke of Kent was presented with a Pure Evoke D4 digital radio and completed his tour by signing the Imagination Technologies’ visitors’ book.
