KEMP PLACE: Proposal open for comment for Bushey residents

Published on: 19th February 2020   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

A consultation period has begun regarding Hertsmere Borough Council’s (HBC) proposal to introduce waiting restrictions and residents parking places in parts of Kemp Place and Montague Hall Place.

HBC released a copy of the draft Order on February 7 and is inviting objections or comments from residents until March 4.

The council believes the proposed changes will have the following impact: improve road safety, assist the movement of traffic and/or pedestrians, improve the amenity of the road and its surroundings, provide suitable and adequate parking facilities, improve access to adjacent properties, reduce instances of inappropriate or inconsiderate parking and improve visibility at road junctions.

If the proposal is approved, some lengths of road on Kemp Place and Montague Hall Place would be designated as Parking Places Resident Permit Holder (Zone VA) from Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6.30pm.

All addresses would be eligible for a maximum of four parking permits for the roads.

The cost of each permit would vary depending on how many you need.

One permit would cost £25, a second permit would be an additional £40, a third £70 and fourth £100.

It would be £5 per book of 20 visitor permits and £40-per-year for a visitor’s annual permit.

Additionally, no waiting at any time would be acceptable on the roads, except for sections designated as Parking Places Limited Waiting and On-Street Pay and Display, where cars could park for a maximum of one hour, no return within two hours from Monday to Saturday, 8am to 6.30pm.

The proposals were developed following consultations last year with residents, local and county councillors representing the area, the Highway Authority, Hertfordshire Constabulary and all other statutory consultees.
