Santa is coming to town, and in this case, it’s Abbots Langley that will receive the extra special joy of seeing the festive hero in person.
Organised by Hemel Hempstead Rotary, the Santa Sleigh is making its return through Abbots Langley West between 5.30pm and 7.30pm on November 24, and in Abbots Langley East between the same times on December 7.
The sleigh will also visit Adeyfield North on November 22, Marlowes/Cotterlls on November 23, Warners End/Fields End on November 25, Manor/Aspen Estates on November 27, Claymore, Grovehill on November 29, Grovehill West on November 29, Grovehill West on November 29, and Bennetts End/Hobbs Hill/Barnacres on November 30.
Then, in December, the sleigh will visit Grovehill East, Boxmoor/Green End, Gadebridge Road, Boxmoor, Jarman Park, Chaulden, Highfield, Woodhall Farm, Leverstock Green, Apsley, and more.
Since it was first launched a decade ago, the annual sleigh event has raised more than £130,000 for local charities and community organisations due to the generosity of residents who showed their support.
This year, the sleigh is travelling along 25 routes and will appear at nine local venues. Both children and adults will receive the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs Claus in person, with festive photo opportunities available.
Hemel Rotary are also inviting members of the community as well as businesses to support the festivities, and are appealing for volunteers or additional drivers with a car and towbar to help on sleigh routes.
