A businesswoman from Bushey has been shortlisted as a finalist at the Best Business Woman Awards.

Susan Barrett, founder of RabbIT Training in Bushey, is one of four finalists in the in Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) category.

She has been providing bespoke Microsoft training packages since 2001 and is also an accredited provider of training for SpliceCom to develop and deliver training courses on IP telephony systems.

Susan said: “When providing Microsoft Office training, my USP is that I work with the customer to provide training that is relevant to the company and to the employees, all on-site so the staff do not need to travel or be away from their desks for too long.”

The award will be presented to the business woman who is best deemed an inspiring example to other women building a business in the science, technology, engineering or maths fields.

One of the judges’ criteria is for women who have taken the initiative and developed their idea with great results.

Susan was previously nominated as a finalist for the award in 2018 for the Best Business Service, and Best Business Women in STEM.

The UK wide Best Business Women Awards are specifically for female business owners who are making a real impact for their clients.

“I have an aptitude for translating ‘tech talk’ into plain English so that anyone can understand it and I set up RabbIT Training in 2001 so I could freelance as a trainer,” added Susan.

“I’ve been working with Microsoft Office and SpliceCom for several decades now, and I believe that everyone, no matter what level they are, can benefit from being trained by an expert – whether you’re a beginner or you just need a refresh. I’ve made it my mission to deliver my training wherever it’s needed.

“I also believe knowledge is power and it gives me a real thrill when I see my ‘students’ growing and developing and becoming more productive team members.”

The gala final of The Best Business Women Awards will be held on Friday, October 11 at The Tower Hotel in London when the winners will be announced.
