The team at a Rickmansworth care home are celebrating a major milestone after the site became the first in the Watford area to achieve the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) accreditation.
Clarendon Lodge received the accreditation “for outstanding end of life and palliative care”.
The nationally recognised award honours care homes that deliver compassionate, personalised support at every stage of life.
Fewer than 350 homes across the UK currently hold this mark of excellence, making Clarendon Lodge’s achievement especially meaningful.
For staff, residents, and families, the accreditation reflects years of dedication. To earn it, the team completed specialist GSF training, built a detailed evidence portfolio, and welcomed an in-person assessment from the national GSF team.
Louise Keegan, home manager at Clarendon Lodge, told RICKYnews: “We are incredibly proud to be the first in our area to receive this recognition. It’s a testament to the kindness, skill and heartfelt commitment of our team.
“Every resident here is treated with dignity, respect and compassion, and this accreditation shows that our everyday care truly makes a difference.”
Families have also noticed the impact. One relative shared with staff how much reassurance the home’s approach brings during sensitive moments when loved ones require extra support.
