A Victorian house and scout group in Bushey are some of the organisations receiving councillor grants as part of the county council’s Locality Budget scheme.
By helping to support local organisations with a wide range of community needs and requirement, each grant goes towards a range of initiatives across the county that “make Hertfordshire the best place to live, work and visit”.
On Monday, August 4, Hertfordshire County Council announced that Councillor Seamus Quilty has given £1000 to Reveley Lodge Trust for new flooring in the corridor.
He said: “This is an important project and will help keep members of the public, staff and trustees safe whilst in that area of the building”.
Bushey North councillor Laurence Brass has also donated £500 to the 79th Bushey and Oxhey Scout group to help provide new camping equipment.
Funds will enable the group to purchase five new tents and facilitate camping for all of the young people who wish to attend events.
Cllr Brass said: “I want to encourage young people to participate in scouting and enjoy outdoor activities and this is an ideal way for me to encourage them.”
