An Abbots Langley resident has presented a talk at the Clinical Pharmacy Congress in London, highlighting the role of children’s pharmacy.

Nabeel Syed works at and spoke on behalf of Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) and the Royal Pharmaceutical Society on Friday, May 9.

Speaking to Abbots News, Nabeel said: “It was a huge honour to be given the opportunity to represent both my hospital and paediatrics at this event. It allowed me to promote how amazing paediatrics is and also all the great services/research we are doing at GOSH which is advancing this field.”

Nabeel’s journey to this point has been far from easy. Failing the first year of his degree in 2018, he had to take a year out to allow for his resits.

He said: “I graduated in 2023 with my Master of Pharmacy degree, and was accepted into foundation training at Guy’s and St Thomas’ Hospital. After I passed my exams, I received a job offer to join GOSH, where I have been working since.

“I am happy to support the local Abbots Langley community as a pharmacist volunteer.”
