A member of staff and a trustee at Bentley Priory Museum in Stanmore have been recognised on the New Year Honours List 2024 for their work in the local area and beyond.

Visitor experience supervisor Sandra Calderbank was awarded a BEM for services to the community in Harrow.

Alongside her work at Bentley Priory, Stanmore resident Sandra has worked at Harrow College as a support worker and lecturer for many years, and is a key member of the Belmont Community Association.

Meanwhile, museum trustee Wing Commander Erica Ferguson has been awarded an OBE for services to heritage as a trustee at Bentley Priory and the head of RAF Heritage.

Erica was the project manager at the museum from 2008 to 2013 and was instrumental to the museum’s acquisition of a Hurricane aeroplane which was in service during the Battle of Britain, now situated outside the main manor building.

Bentley Priory Museum in Stanmore archives the fascinating history of its time as the Headquarters Fighter Command during the Second World War. For more information, please visit www.bentleypriorymuseum.org.uk
