Big Tidy UpScores of volunteers joined forces with Hillingdon Council to keep the borough looking clean and green by taking part in a host of clean-up events at the weekend.

This was part of the Big Tidy Up, a national project by Keep Britain Tidy, which is designed to make the capital cleaner. The series of events in Hillingdon were organised by the council’s Green Spaces team and held across the borough on Saturday October 18. Nearly 80 bags of rubbish were collected on the day. Councillor Jonathan Bianco, Cabinet Member for Finance, Property and Business Services, said: “We are very grateful for all the support we have from our volunteer groups, it was a very productive day and it has left the borough looking cleaner and greener. “It really is important for residents to use bins provided or take their rubbish home with them. No-one wants to live in a litter-strewn borough and we work hard to keep Hillingdon clean, and a place where people are proud to live.”
