A consultation has launched on plans for a new neighbourhood on the edge of Chorleywood.
Clovercourt’s proposal includes around 380 homes, a new medical centre and care home, and green spaces and parks. Around half of the new homes would be affordable.
The plans first surfaced in 2023 when Clovercourt Ltd submitted an environmental impact assessment screening request to Three Rivers District Council (TRDC). The application was for land currently occupied by Catlips Farm, located between Berry Lane and Shepherds Lane.
District councillor Stephen Giles-Medhurst OBE said that TRDC would oppose any planning applications put forward on the Catlips Farm site.
Speaking to Chorleywood News last year, cllr Giles-Medhurst said: “The council has already rejected Catlips Farm as being unsuitable, and any development here would cause high harm to the green belt.
“It is clear that residents do not want development of precious green belt sites like this, and it will be opposed.”
The consultation launched on July 10, 2025.
A spokesperson for Clovercourt said: “We welcome local people, especially those looking for an affordable, sustainable home, to have their say. The village of Chorleywood is one of the most unaffordable areas in the country, and TRDC has one of England’s lowest housing supplies. This site could be designated grey belt and built out very quickly to elevate urgent local need. The site will have a newly designed access not far from Chorleywood Working Men’s Club off Shepherds Lane, with upgrades to public transport and footpaths.”
