Yollanda Musa has scooped two awards at the semi-finals of the Miss Swimsuit UK last month and is hoping to take part in more pageants later in the year.
The business support officer at Herts County Council didn’t make it to the final but said she was surprised at how much she enjoyed the experience.
She said: “I had a really good day. It was much better than I expected, I was surprised at just how friendly everyone was because I didn’t really know what to expect.
“I felt really comfortable and made loads of friends, which was highlighted in my Miss Congeniality award.”
The Miss Congeniality award, which Yollanda won, was voted by all of the other contestants on the basis of the kindest and most supportive contestant, which Yollanda was thrilled about.
She said: “I have heard these competitions can be really competitive, but everyone I met was so lovely. Winning the award was amazing, it was really overwhelming.”
Alongside the award, the Leverstock Green model bagged the Social Media Award for being so active and engaging in the lead up to the competition.
Following on from her two awards, the 27-year-old is hoping to have a successful career in the industry.
She added: “I have been contacted by an agency to take part in a pageant in America which is really exciting. I hope this will lead to a load more of opportunities.
“I just want to thank those who have supported me, my family and my sponsor, Ian Trayner.”
