HELP OUT: Appeal after police officers assaulted in Watford

Published on: 23rd November 2021   |   By: News Bulletin   |   Category: Uncategorized

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information following an incident where two police officers were assaulted in Watford.

On Sunday, November 14, at around 1.50am, officers responded to reports of disorder in the High Street, near the Twisted Monkey bar.

Whilst attempting to detain a man in connection with the incident, the officers were approached by a woman who reportedly assaulted them.

Detective Constable Adam Bates, who is investigating, said: “Thankfully, neither of the officers sustained serious injuries. The High Street would have been fairly busy at this time, and we believed that several people may have witnessed the incident taking place or captured footage on their mobile phones.

“If you did witness the assault taking place, or have any information that you think could assist with our enquiries, please get in touch. Any information, even something that may seem insignificant, could be key to progressing our investigation.”

Anyone with information can contact DC Bates directly via email at adam.bates@herts.police.uk.

You can report information online at herts.police.uk/report, speak to an operator in the Force Communications Room via online web chat at herts.police.uk/contact or call the non-emergency number 101, quoting crime reference 41/89012/21.

Alternatively, you can stay 100 per cent anonymous by contacting the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or via their untraceable online form at crimestoppers-uk.org.
