HAVE A GO: 7.2 Challenge underway to help Mount Vernon Cancer Centre in Northwood

Published on: 14th July 2020   |   By: Jake Levison   |   Category: Uncategorized

People are being invited to take on a unique challenge to raise money for the Mount Vernon Cancer Centre (MVCC) in Northwood.

In spirit of the NHS’s 72nd birthday this month, the East & North Hertfordshire Hospitals’ Charity is holding the 7.2 Challenge to raise money for the MVCC, along with other cancer services across the trust.

Your challenge, which can be completed at any point between now and August 5, can be anything related to 7.2 or 72, whether it be a 7.2km run, a 72km cycle if you’re feeling energetic or putting on some music and dancing for 72 minutes, it’s up to you.

Here are some of the charity’s ideas, but feel free to get as creative as you like:

Do 72 push ups, take your dog for a 72 minute walk, jump 72 times on a trampoline, do 72 star jumps, have a 72-hour silence, bake 72 cookies and deliver them to friends and family or climb the stairs 72 times.

Jo Walker (pictured), viability nurse at the Lister Hospital, pedalled 72 miles recently to complete her challenge. What will you do?

The money raised will help the MVCC give patients and their loved ones a better experience whilst in their care.

To sign up for the challenge or for more details on how the money will be spent at MVCC, go to enhhcharity.org.uk/Event/72challenge.

Let us know how your challenge went by emailing newsroom@mynewsmag.co.uk.
