The Pinner Association has concluded its 21st season of Concerts in the Park at Pinner Memorial Park, finishing on Sunday, August 20.
The concerts started in 2002 with The Top Brass Jazz Orchestra playing at the first-ever concert, and resulting in just one cancellation in 2009.
Simply Gray, a six-piece jump jive and rock band played the final concert, which led to some impromptu dancing occurring around the park. Despite a temporary power cut, the enjoyment didn’t stop.
Ruth Boff, Honorary Secretary of The Pinner Association said: “The season of four open-air, free, live music concerts held in Pinner Memorial Park were well supported as in previous years by enthusiastic audiences.
“Our concerts are truly community events with people of all ages from every part of Pinner, and some from much further away, enjoying a happy and informal atmosphere in the beautiful surroundings of the park on a summer Sunday afternoon.
“The audiences very generously donated to voluntary bucket collections which will help to provide the funds for The Pinner Association to continue to organise and sponsor community events such as these annual concerts and the festive streetlights and street Christmas trees in Pinner.”
