A Tring resident has set out on a mission to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon this October to support a charity close to her heart.
Robyn Shuck hopes to raise £500 to support YoungMinds, a charity which aims to improve the mental health of all children and young people.
The half marathon will take place on Sunday, October 12, and sees participants run through four of the eight royal parks in London.
Robyn said: “The charity had spaces for me to run on behalf of YoungMinds, so I wanted to take up the opportunity to help people who need it most whilst running round the beautiful sites of London.”
Robyn works at a nursery in Hemel Hempstead and sees first-hand the impact that mental health can have on young people’s wellbeing. She is also joining up with her workplace charity to double the overall donation amount.
She added: “YoungMinds is a charity close to my heart. At my workplace, I come across many children, parents and adults that suffer, so I wanted to help make a difference.”
Having previously run the London Marathon four years ago for Crohn’s & Colitis UK, Robyn is no stranger to taking on charity challenges. She plans to host a raffle and bake sale closer to the event to ramp up donations.
