The owner of a sweet shop in Garston is thanking the NHS staff for their hard work during the pandemic by donating £100 worth of sweets to staff lounges in local hospitals.
Suren Vis, who runs Sweets For All, said the NHS staff have a very special place in his heart and he wanted to bring a smile on their faces during this hard time.
The sweet products will be donated to Harefield Hospital, Watford General Hospital, Mount Vernon Hospital, St Albans City Hospital and Hemel Hempstead General Hospital.
Speaking to GarstonNews Suren said: “My fiancee is a nurse, my mum is a retired nurse, my aunts and friends are nurses and my cousins are doctors. So the NHS staff have a very special place in my heart.
“I offer every key worker, a free £5 small sweets box for life with every purchase in my sweets showroom.”
Suren, who used to live in New York, returned to England in September 2017, because my Dad’s health was deteriorating and I wanted to look after him.
He added: “It was an honour to look after my dad as he was my hero, but my mum is the real superhero. She helped me build my sweets showroom.
“Sadly, my dad passed away on April 20, 2019. My goal is to make him proud.”
