The Watford branch of Berry Recruitment and the local Rotary club have joined forces to deliver a bumper donation to the town’s food bank – just in time for Christmas.
Berry Recruitment Group – a national company – made donations to a number of food banks around the country.
In Watford, the staff at the recruitment company have strong links with the Rotary club, and together they teamed up to help provide food for those in need.
Elected Mayor of Watford Peter Taylor and town councillor Rabi Martins were there when the parcels were donated.
Carol Grainger, who manages the branch, said: “It was very generous of our company directors to make a donation. In Watford, we try and do our bit for charities within our community and this was a great opportunity to help others.
“While Christmas is a time when people do give generously, there are people who need help with their meals all year round. We were able to supply many types of food and being from Berry Recruitment we made sure there were some berries included.
“It was very humbling to see what basics the food bank had, and to play a small part in this worthy and necessary charity.”
The food bank gives out 10 tonnes of food per month, but donations can drop by half in January.
