A man has been charged and remanded into custody following an incident of grievous bodily harm (GBH) in Watford.
Police were called just before 10.20pm on Tuesday, July 23, to reports of an assault in Maeme’s on Clarendon Road, Watford.
It is reported that two people entered the shop with knives and assaulted a man. The victim, a man aged in his 20s, suffered a stab wound. Officers attended and he was taken to hospital for treatment.
Detectives have been conducting extensive enquiries and subsequently arrested a man in connection with the incident on Saturday, September 7.
Marcel Gordon, 18, of Abbey View, Garston, was charged with GBH with intent and remanded into custody.
He will next appear at St Albans Crown Court on Sunday, October 8.
Detective Sergeant George Lewin, who is investigating, said: “I know news of this assault will understandably have concerned members of the local community and I hope this charge provides some reassurance.
“There is no place for this type of violence in Watford and carrying weapons will not be tolerated. We will do everything we can to bring those responsible to justice and ensure we keep our communities safe. As part of this, increased patrols are already taking place in Watford under Operation Hotspot.
