Chorleywood Parish Council (CPC) recently held a consultation on the future of the Swillet Hut.
The hut on Stag Lane was gifted to CPC in July 2018 by Eric Latchford and Russell Halam as the surviving trustees of the Swillett, Heronsgate and Chorleywood Social Club Trust.
The gift specified that the existing building must be used for community purposes.
However, according to CPC, the building is in a state of disrepair and investigations have revealed that its restoration is not economically viable.
CPC therefore decided to consult with local residents on whether they should refurbish the hut, or whether they should seek permission to dispose of the hut and use the proceeds for other community purposes.
Other suggestions for CPC to consider were also welcomed.
The consultation closed on Friday, September 5. The outcome will be revealed in due course.
