A team of six from MyNews HQ are happy to announce they are taking part in the 2019 DENS Sponsored Sleepout this November.
Charlie Reynolds, Alex Pearson, Jake Levison, Amelie Gregory, Rebecka Fryer and Jeremy Braithwaite will be swapping their cosy beds for a sleeping bag on Hemel Hempstead School field in an event which aims to raise awareness of the rough conditions the homeless people sleep in.
DENS aim is to support people in Dacorum who are facing homelessness and this event is one of the many ways in which they do so.
Everyone who takes part in the sleepout is encouraged to raise sponsorship which will help DENS continue to help people rebuild their lives.
The team are hoping to raise as much as possible and have set a target of £500, the KingsNews reporter, Charlie Reynolds has said any support will be grateful.
Game of Thrones star, Joe Dempsie, even dropped by MyNews HQ to wish the team good luck with their sponsored sleepout.
Joe has been a big supporter of the Dacorum based charity for the past year and his visit was appreciated by the MyNews team.
Any donations, no matter how small or large are welcome and we, as a team are grateful for the support. The amount of people that are homeless in Dacorum goes unnoticed and DENS do an amazing job in supporting those people.
A spokesperson for DENS said: “We’re thrilled that My News will be joining us at our DENS Sleepout this November when they will be putting themselves in the shoes of those sleeping rough during the cold winter.
MyNews, who are valued supporters of DENS, are the first team to sign up to our rough sleeping challenge to support vulnerable people in Dacorum, and we very much look forward to welcoming them on the night.”
