Bushey Heath Primary School has set up a fundraising page to help install new infant playground equipment.
The primary school, located on The Rutts in Bushey Heath, is looking for funding of £2,000 for a new playground.
The playground has been designed to help children become more active and continue to promote physical development, with full accessibility for those with limited mobility.
The aim of the project is to create a safe environment for children within the school as well as the wider community during holidays, weekends and evenings.
The school’s children have had their say in what they want within the new playground to give them skills, such as ownership, pride and responsibility once the project is completed.
From this, the school council have been using brochures to help bring all the design ideas together.
Issues with the current playground have been raised. These include rough surfaces, boring, not challenging and slippery.
One student said: “This playground is dull and boring and I believe we need more colours and more equipment so children can all play and have fun.”
A Crowd Funding Page has been launched, as well as the Friends of the School getting involved in helping to raise money for the project.
