A campaign which pushes for better and free-to-use outdoor sports facilities in Chalfont St Peter has been receiving a lot of support from locals.

The Chalfonts Activity Park Project, committee chaired by resident Kenny Ross, is looking to collaborate with the community and local authority to build a modern wheeled sports activity park for people of all ages to enjoy.

Kenny set up a survey to get residents’ views on the proposal to upgrade facilities at Mill Meadow in the village.

He said: “We have had about 700 responses to the survey to date, over 90 per cent in favour. We have given a presentation to the parish council.”

The proposal was also debated by councillors during a council meeting. Kenny added: “45 people attended the meeting. Lots of people spoke out in support of our idea including two younger residents. The council passed the motion, the parish council supported in principle the Chalfont Activity Group to develop their proposal to upgrade facilities at Mill Meadow subject to necessary conditions.”

The group members will be having a stall on December 3 at the village’s fun night and will be available to answer any questions.

The survey is on-going and can be completed here chalfontactivity.com
