Radlett Bowls Club hosted 16 potential new members for a taster bowls match on Sunday, May 4.
The group’s match was supervised by four qualified bowls instructors, highlighting that the “best way to learn is play”.
Speaking to RADLETTnews, a spokesperson for the club said: “The morning was a great success as 10 new members have now joined the club.
“Radlett Bowls has a calendar of many friendly matches, both internal and against other clubs, that new members are more than welcome to play in, as the atmosphere in these friendly games is one of support and community. Plus, there’s always tea and biscuits at half time!”
The regular annual membership fee is £150, but for new members who have not previously belonged to a lawn bowls club, the fee is £100 per annum.
Throughout the bowls season, from April to September, Radlett Bowls hosts quiz afternoons, bingo games, cream teas, and BBQs.
