Four people have been arrested after a stolen vehicle was recovered by police yesterday (April 30) in Hunton Bridge.
Police were made aware of a stolen vehicle in the county, which was then pursued by officers in Hunton Bridge before the occupants of the vehicle fled on foot.
A 23-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, dangerous driving, theft of a motor vehicle and drug driving, an 18-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and possession of drugs, a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop and theft of a motor vehicle and a 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, failing to stop, dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, criminal damage to a vehicle and assaulting a police officer.
A spokesperson for Hertfordshire Police said: “At around 3pm on Sunday, April 30, police in Hertfordshire were made aware that a stolen vehicle was potentially travelling into the county.
“The vehicle was subsequently spotted on the M25 motorway.
“It then made off and was pursued by specially trained officers into Hunton Bridge. The vehicle came to a stop a short time later and the occupants fled on foot.
“A search was carried out and four people were arrested and taken into police custody, where they remain at this time. The vehicle was recovered.”
