A car has been clocked travelling at speeds of 124mph down the second most dangerous road in the Dacorum area.
Following concerns from members of the public, officers from the BCH Road Policing Unit conducted speed checks on the A41 near Hemel Hempstead on July 31.
The vehicle, a Volkswagen Golf, was followed and stopped by officers who spoke to the male driver.
He was reported for the offence and will be summoned to court.
This offence comes after the Hertfordshire County Council (HCC) revealed the most dangerous roads in the Dacorum area.
The A4251 tops the list with 207 injuries recorded from traffic accidents, including six fatalities, over the past 10 years.
Five fatalities have been recorded on the A41 over the same period, and 190 injuries overall.
A spokesperson for the HCC said: “Speeding is one of the main causes of deaths on our roads.”
“Stopping distances increase considerably with higher speeds and significantly reduce the chance of stopping in time if an unexpected event occurs.
“Anyone caught travelling at those speeds can expect a court summons and a ban.”
