With not a spare seat in the house, a packed audience were treated to a spectacular fashion show at the Kings Langley Community Centre recently.
The event which was organised by the Peace Hospice Care Watford Support Group saw 14 volunteer models take to the catwalk to model 82 separate outfits to a soundtrack of more than 30 songs.
Once modelled all of the outfits were available to buy and many of them were snapped up by members of the audience.
The event which also included an auction, excellently presided over by auctioneer Craig Moss and a raffle prize draw had been arranged to raise money for Peace Hospice Care.
After the event, Fashion Show Producer and Organiser Karen Ashworth said ‘The fashion show was a HUGE team effort and I was blessed to have a “dream team” of 42 volunteers to work with. I would like to say a VERY BIG thank you to all of my volunteers, models, sponsors and our audience for all believing in my vision and bringing it to life. Having generated almost £3500 overall, it was a huge success and I have requests to repeat the event’.
Mother and daughter models Sherry and Zoe Rollinson were both delighted to take part.
Sherry said ‘It was a great privilege and huge fun to “strut my stuff” at the Peace Hospice Fashion Show. It was also a pleasure to be involved in such a worthy fundraising event’.
Daughter Zoe who admitted to feeling a little nervous before the show said ‘At first it was quite daunting with 180 pairs of eyes looking at and judging your clothing. However, the bright lights, appropriate music choices and cheers from the audience turned 14 nervous, ordinary people into 14 energetic, confident Naomi Campbell’s…we truly rocked it!’
