EXCITING PLANS: The Grove Hotel reveal plans for a new film hub in Hunton Bridge

Published on: 29th September 2022   |   By: Christina Pantelly   |   Category: Uncategorized

Plans have been revealed to build a film hub in Hunton Bridge, on the estate of The Grove Hotel.

Ralph Trustees Limited (RTL), a family-owned hospitality business best known for owning and developing The Grove Hotel, recently unveiled plans for a film hub on Langleybury Estate, which it owns.

For the last 10 years, Hunton Bridge’s Grade II* listed Langleybury Mansion has been used as a filming location. It is located in the centre of the Langleybury Estate and is situated on property to the east of Langleybury Lane.

Due to the expansion of existing film studio facilities and the introduction of new studio expansions, they were able to increase their ability to meet the space requirements of the film industry.

The goal of the new film hub is to provide a central location for the larger film and television industries, providing a range of essential services.

The public were asked to provide feedback on the proposed development by October 7.

The Langleybury film hub proposal says it will “incorporate a Craft Campus near the historic heart of the site, that incorporates a series of units available for long-term hire as a base for supply chain companies to best service their film production customers.

“Tenants of the Craft Campus may include companies involved in: Prop storage, sculpting, special effects, carpentry, stunts, location supplies, lighting, camera equipment, wardrobe, hair or make-up, visual effects, scenery, catering, post-production, and recycling and environmental work. The inclusion of a film and television training facility is also integral to the proposal.”

Building up, paving over green land during “climate emergency” does not sound exciting to me. Planting a forest there would be better.

Bad for the environment. Green spaces should not be built up in this area, especially now, in a climate emergency. Plant a forest there and we all would be better off.
