While it may take time to commit to running a marathon, a Chipperfield resident had “no hesitation” about the charity she wanted to support.
Emily Pow, a mum-of-two and assistant headteacher at a Watford primary school, is set to run the 2025 London Marathon.
After her friends’ son received training and support from local charity Mission EmployAble, Emily said “choosing a charity [to sponsor] was an easy decision”.
Mission EmployAble trains young adults with learning disabilities to become work ready.
Emily shared: “A family friend trained at Mission EmployAble’s Café on the Common in Chorleywood and his excitement and determination, coupled with the support he received from Mission EmployAble, enabled him to secure a full-time paid job.
“It’s truly inspiring to see how this charity helps young people become independent and achieve their goals.”
The 26.2-mile marathon is scheduled to take place on Sunday, April 27.
