DUMPED RUBBISH: Watford Councillor on a mission to tackle fly-tipping

Published on: 8th February 2026   |   By: Naomi Greenaway   |   Category: Uncategorized

Dumped rubbish, overflowing litter bins and scattered plastic seems to be becoming an upsetting reality for parts of North Watford after 19 incidents of fly-tipping were reported last month.
Watford councillor Richard Short provides weekly updates on the incidents on Facebook.

The most recent litter update included Lowestoft Road, Victoria Road, and The Hornets. Rubbish was also found around Harebreaks Green, Judge Street, and the alleyway between Lowestoft Road and Victoria Road.

Additional debris at Hatfield Heights Flats has since been cleared, as cllr Short shared several photos on Facebook which revealed the conditions before and after the clean-up.

The weekly updates by the councillor aim to give residents an overview of problems and ongoing maintenance including litter and fly-tipping, while providing guidance on how to report incidents to the council.
