A special event took place in Watford yesterday for those suffering with dementia and their families.
As part of Dementia Action Week, The Dementia Party by the Pond featured dancing, music and physical fitness sessions, allowing those with the illness some outdoor fun in the town centre.
There was also the Virtual Reality Dementia Awareness Bus, which allows those with a well mind the ability to experience what life is like for sufferers.
The event, aside from providing dementia patients a happy time, also sought to raise awareness for non-dementia patients to understand more about the illness.
Watford Borough Council has committed itself to making the town more dementia friendly, with an initiative to give sufferers and their carers free six month gym passes with Everyone Active.
This event will also hopefully go some way to achieving that goal.
